Whitbread posted a modest 2 % rise in third‑quarter sales, driven by stronger accommodation demand in the UK and Germany. Total group revenue climbed to £781 million, up from £765 million a year earlier. In Britain, Premier Inn UK’s rooms generated a 2 % lift in sales and a 3 % jump in revenue per available room, while food‑and‑drink revenue fell 4 % as the company shifts lower‑margin brands into higher‑return formats under its Accelerating Growth Plan. Premier Inn Germany operations outperformed, reporting a 12 % rise in local‑currency accommodation sales and a 16 % increase in sterling terms. RevPAR across the German estate rose 7 % to €76, with mature sites hitting €86, beating the mid‑scale market.

For the six weeks to Jan. 8, UK RevPAR and sales were up 4 %, and German figures rose 11 % and 5 % respectively. Chief executive Dominic Paul praised the “strong performance” and highlighted new cost‑efficiency targets of £75‑£80 million for 2026, up from earlier guidance. The firm also revised its 2027 outlook after the UK Budget, trimming expected business‑rate impact to £35 million.
