Virtuix VR Tech Poised for Defense Contracts After Nasdaq Debut

Virtuix Inc., the maker of full-body virtual reality systems, sees significant defense sector opportunities for its AI-driven virtual terrain technology, CEO Jan Goetgeluk told Investing.com in an exclusive interview. The Austin-based company, known for its “Omni” omni-directional treadmills, recently made its Nasdaq debut after reporting 138% year-over-year revenue growth for the six months ended Sept. 30, 2025.

Goetgeluk said the company’s newest defense-focused platform, its Virtual Terrain Walk system (VTW), is already being tested at Yokota Air Force Base and the U.S. Air Force Academy. “Any training application that benefits from getting immersed in a photorealistic replica of the real world” stands to gain from Virtuix’s technology, he noted, emphasizing that VTW enables soldiers to rehearse missions by walking through AI-reconstructed real-world terrain before deployment.

The company is pursuing a “dual-use” strategy combining high-volume consumer sales with potentially high-margin defense contracts. Virtuix is scaling production of Omni One, its home “Peloton for gamers” system, with capacity to produce 3,000 units per month, equivalent to about $100 million in annual revenue potential. To meet that target, Virtuix plans to expand marketing through paid social, influencers, and a customer referral program while continuing to pursue lucrative defense contracts.

Quick Fact: Virtuix’s shares currently trade around the $6 mark.
