European stocks traded in a mixed fashion on Friday, as investors digested a flurry of corporate earnings reports alongside crucial inflation data. The region's major indices showed slight gains and losses: Germany's DAX rose 0.1%, France's CAC slipped 0.5%, and the UK's FTSE gained 0.6%. The earnings season continues to dominate, with over half of European companies reporting Q4 results.

Swiss Re (SIX:SRENH) delivered a record annual net income of $4.76 billion, a 47% increase year-over-year, though its life and health reinsurance unit missed targets due to $650 million in charges from underperforming portfolios in Australia, Israel, and South Korea. Holcim (SIX:HOLN) posted a record recurring EBIT margin of 18.3% in 2025, up 80 basis points, thanks to a completed North American spinoff and agreements to acquire Xella and a stake in Cementos Pacasmayo. Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) declined to raise its offer for Warner Bros Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD), stating the deal was no longer financially attractive at the price required to match Paramount Skydance's latest proposal.

The mixed performance reflects the market's cautious stance ahead of key inflation data releases later in the session.
