Boeing is nearing a 500-aircraft order for 737 Max jets from Chinese airlines, potentially announced during President Trump's state visit to China, according to Bloomberg. The deal would represent one of Boeing's largest sales agreements ever and mark a significant breakthrough after years of negotiations with Chinese carriers.

The agreement comes as Trump prepares to visit China from March 31 to April 2, with Chinese leader Xi Jinping expected to visit Washington later this year. Boeing's aircraft have frequently featured in trade discussions between the two nations, with the US planemaker serving as a key export for American trade relations.

The two parties are also discussing a separate widebody aircraft sale involving approximately 100 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X jets, though this deal would likely be announced later. As of February 27, Boeing had 134 unfilled aircraft orders from China and 875 orders from unidentified customers, some of which may conceal unannounced deals with Chinese carriers.
