Amazon Stock Could Surge on Anthropic AI Growth

Amazon shares could get a major boost as Anthropic's AI business explodes, according to Bank of America analysts. The AI startup's annualized revenue run rate has skyrocketed to $19 billion, more than doubling from $9 billion in December. Much of this growth stems from rising enterprise and consumer adoption of Anthropic's Claude models and developer tools.

BofA analyst Justin Post notes that Anthropic's momentum appears linked to the February launch of Opus 4.6, the company's most advanced model yet. Consumer adoption has surged dramatically, with Claude's free active users growing over 60% and daily signups quadrupling since January. Importantly, this growth isn't coming at competitors' expense - OpenAI recently raised its revenue outlook.

The rapid expansion could translate directly into AWS revenue gains. Post estimates Anthropic's growth could drive up to $1 billion in quarterly AWS revenue increases, exceeding BofA's projection for total AWS growth. With Amazon planning to double AWS power capacity through 2027, stronger usage trends could accelerate revenue expansion beyond Wall Street expectations.
