BHP has appointed Brandon Craig as its new chief executive, effective July 1. The mining giant named Craig, currently head of its Americas operations, to succeed Mike Henry, who has led the company since 2020. Craig takes charge as BHP benefits from surging global copper demand, becoming the world's largest copper producer. His leadership across the US, Canada, and South America has been pivotal in driving this success. BHP reported copper contributed 51% of its underlying earnings in the first half of last year, marking a historic profit share for the metal.
