Ukraine Farmers Struggle With Unsold Grain After Russian Strikes

More than four years ago, Ravil Dzhamally fled his farm in Ukraine's Kherson region after it was overrun by invading Russian troops. When Moscow's forces were driven back, he returned to clear his fields of mines and plant wheat, barley and sunflowers.

Russian strikes have left Ukrainian farmers with piles of unsold grain as export routes remain disrupted. The ongoing conflict continues to hamper agricultural production and sales across the region.

Despite clearing his land and replanting crops, Dzhamally and other local farmers face mounting challenges. Damaged infrastructure and persistent attacks make it difficult to harvest and transport grain to market.

The situation reflects broader struggles in Ukraine's agricultural sector, where farmers must navigate both physical dangers and economic losses. Many are unable to sell their produce, leading to waste and financial hardship.
