London Stock Exchange Group PLC reported a "record performance" in Q1 2026, with total income excluding recoveries rising 9.8% on an organic constant currency basis. Subscription businesses grew 6.3%, while Data & Analytics revenue increased 5.1%, driven by FTSE Russell up 8.8%, Risk Intelligence 10%, and Markets 16%. The company raised its 2026 guidance to the upper half of its 6.5% to 7.5% growth range and forecast an EBITDA margin improvement of 80 to 100 basis points.

London Stock Exchange Group completed GBP1.1 billion in share buybacks during the quarter and remains on track for its GBP3 billion program by February 2027. CEO David Schwimmer highlighted the "LSEG everywhere" strategy, stating the company's AI-ready data positions it to "seize new growth opportunities" as customers recognize solutions are "more valuable in an AI world."

Analyst Max Harper of Third Bridge noted concerns about income compression from per-seat to usage-based AI revenues but acknowledged London Stock Exchange Group's strategy may position it well against competitors like Bloomberg, S&P, and Factset. However, Harper questioned capital allocation, suggesting buyback funds could better consolidate its financial infrastructure moat. Shares rose 0.6% to 9,810.00 pence but remain down 15% over 12 months.
