Private‑equity‑backed JetBio announced plans to erect the world’s biggest commercial green jet fuel plant in Brazil. The facility will convert ethanol into sustainable aviation fuel, targeting airlines seeking to meet tightening emissions mandates. By siting the project near abundant sugarcane and corn crops, JetBio aims to lock in low‑cost feedstock and scale SAF production quickly. The project expects to process over 1 billion gallons annually.

CEO William Moore said the plant will draw on a diversified supply chain, pulling ethanol from sugar producers, second‑crop corn growers and waste‑derived sources. Ownership rests with US‑based Summit Agricultural Group, which will fund the venture through its private‑equity platform. Construction is slated to begin in the second half of 2027, positioning the project ahead of competing SAF projects worldwide. targets 250,000 tons SAF annually.

The Brazil project could reshape the global SAF market by adding gigaton‑scale renewable jet fuel capacity at a region where ethanol costs are among the lowest. Investors eyeing climate‑aligned assets may view the venture as a hedge against tightening carbon regulations, while airlines could secure a domestic source of green jet fuel, reducing reliance on imported SAF. covering roughly 12% of Brazil's jet fuel demand.
