Ankur Mehta is joining Citigroup Inc. as head of portfolio management in the treasury department, according to an internal memo. The newly created position comes after Mehta led the bank's securitized products and credit research divisions.

In this role, Mehta will oversee macroeconomic analysis, develop investment strategies, and advise senior leadership on portfolio positioning. Josh Scholl, the bank's head of asset liability management, wrote that Mehta will also provide guidance during critical market events.
