Advent Offloads InPost Buyout Debt in €1.5B Bank Deal

Advent International LP is looking to offload roughly a third of its €4.2 billion ($4.9 billion) buyout loan tied to Polish parcel-locker operator InPost SA. The firm plans to sell up to €1.5 billion of the debt to a group of banks before the remaining portion is offered to institutional investors.

This loan was originated as part of Advent's acquisition financing for InPost. By carving out a sizable tranche for banks first, Advent can gauge demand and potentially improve pricing before marketing the rest of the exposure to a wider pool of institutional capital.

The size of the loan relative to the portion being sold signals meaningful risk and potential returns for the banking group. How aggressively banks bid will shape the appetite of subsequent institutional investors when the balance reaches the market.
