A former Auburn football staff member has been accused of stealing trade secrets from the Tigers and sending them to competitors, according to court records. David Rudolph Jenrath, 24, turned himself into authorities Monday and was charged with theft of trade secrets and computer tampering, both felonies. He is held on $15,000 bond at the Lee County Jail in Auburn, Alabama.

An Auburn Police Department release said a business reported sensitive information stolen and distributed to competitors, who then turned it over. The police report didn't identify the schools that allegedly received the stolen information. A complaint alleges the incident occurred on July 19 at the Auburn Athletics Complex.

Sources told ESPN that Jenrath allegedly sent material related to Auburn's recruiting evaluations to multiple schools. The information did not include NIL deals, revenue sharing, or playbooks. Jenrath, from Franklin, Tennessee, wasn't a full-time athletic department member. Charging documents allege he obtained and transmitted confidential proprietary information without consent.

One SEC front-office member recalled Jenrath referring to himself as "Don Julio" in an email, believed to be recruiting spam. Jenrath's LinkedIn, now removed, indicated he worked as a player personnel scouting assistant from January to June. He attended Tennessee, studying sports analytics and applied AI.
