MLB Roster Moves & Injury Updates
The Washington Nationals executed a trade on Saturday, acquiring utility player Curtis Mead from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for catcher Boston Smith, bolstering their bench depth ahead of the mid-summer stretch. Elsewhere on the field, Blue Jays pitcher Mason Fluharty was struck by two batted balls in quick succession during the seventh inning of Toronto’s contest against the Athletics, forcing him to exit the game after being hit on the right leg by consecutive infield singles.
