Spring Training Pitching & Roster News
Los Angeles pitching prospect Roki Sasaki endured another tough outing Monday evening, struggling through just two-plus innings where he walked six batters and surrendered five earned runs, raising concerns about his readiness for the regular season. Contrastingly, the Texas Rangers delivered good news to rookie right-hander Carter Baumler during his final spring start, as manager Skip Schumaker initiated a mound visit not to remove him, but to officially inform the young pitcher that he had secured an Opening Day roster spot. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs are closing in on a multi-year contract agreement with center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, aiming to lock up the breakout star whose impressive performance last season made him a cornerstone piece for the immediate future.
