OpenAI has teased 20+ announcements as part of its Dev Day 2026 event. The event will be streamed live. We expect the major announcement to be ChatGPT’s response to SpaceX’s Grok Bot and Meta’s Muse, building on existing AI agent tools with broader consumer appeal. The livestream kicks off at 10 am PT/1 pm ET.

Here’s the first bit of news: dots. These are always-on AI agents, a new feature inside ChatGPT. Dots work 24/7 for you, learn from your feedback, have their own computer, browser and can be connected to over 4k apps in our ecosystem. They’re powered by Astra our best model yet. Included in your Pro plan, without drawing down on any of your usage.

Next up is a new feature called ChatGPT Space. This is a collaborative work area where you can work with dots, manage pages and presentations, and work with living documents. Separately, OpenAI has published information about a new GPT-6.1 Sol model release. "We’re introducing GPT‑6.1 Sol, an upgrade to GPT‑6 Sol that nearly matches GPT‑6 Astra’s intelligence on agentic coding, computer use, and professional work at one-fifth of Astra’s standard input and output token prices."
