A journalist and pilot who flew hundreds of hours together since 2023 were killed in a Los Angeles helicopter crash on Tuesday. The crash occurred after a bus accident they were covering.

Eliana Moreno, a reporter for NBC 4 and Telemundo 52, was in her late 30s. Born in Orange County, she graduated from Chapman University in 2010. Known as "Eli in the heli," she was a seasoned aerial journalist. She is survived by her fiancé, Robert Barrientos.

George Marciniw was the pilot. He grew up in Southern California and graduated from Burbank High School in 1974. He worked in helicopter flight services for nearly 40 years and was an instructor for over 30. He posted as "Whirly dude" on Instagram.

NBC4 and Telemundo 52 said they were "deeply saddened" and extended condolences. A third person on the ground was also killed. The helicopter was operated by Angel City Air.
