Watford have signed former West Ham striker Michail Antonio on a free transfer. The 36-year-old last played for Al-Sailiya in April and had been training with the Hornets for a month. He joins on a one-year deal.

"Watford is a big club and hopefully I can bring success," Antonio said. The deal is pending international clearance for Saturday's Championship match with Stoke City.

Antonio left West Ham in June 2025 after a 10-year spell. He suffered a broken leg in a car crash in December 2024. He also trained with Leicester City and nearly joined Brentford, but a torn calf scuppered that move.

Antonio previously played for Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest. He will wear the number 18 shirt at Vicarage Road and is Watford's 12th signing of the summer. The Hornets are 12th in the league under Alessio Dionisi.
