GPU prices just climbed 15% in a single month, according to fresh pricing data tracked across 10 countries by TechSpot. When averaged across all graphics card models, the market now sits 28% above launch MSRP, excluding the RTX 5090. TechSpot excluded the RTX 5090 because it is an extreme outlier, and they say it's not really a gaming GPU.

NVIDIA still lists it at $1,999, but the cheapest available model in the US now costs nearly $5,000, or 145% above MSRP domestically and 136% globally. On average, GeForce cards overall rose 19% month over month, while Radeon GPUs rose 11%. That aligns with earlier reporting that RTX 50-series prices climbed as much as 41% in a single month, so this appears to be a continuation of that trend.

The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is now the second-most inflated card on the list, priced 70% above its $429 MSRP in the US and 53% above MSRP globally. Meanwhile, its 8GB sibling sits at just 14% above MSRP worldwide, which makes this split very interesting. AMD is not immune to the price creep either, though the damage is smaller.

The RX 9060 XT 16GB is up 28% globally, and the RX 9070 remains one of the better-priced options at only 13% above MSRP. The main driver of these price hikes appears to be GDDR7 supply reportedly being redirected toward AI hardware. AMD uses GDDR6 memory instead, which may explain why Radeon pricing has held up slightly better, though I don't see that lasting long.
