New Biologically Inspired Programming Language

Developer David Lamar is building Mycelium, a biologically inspired Virtual Machine Network that runs the purely functional language Spore. He aims to solve frustrations with modern microservices architecture, which he finds bloated, difficult to deploy, and poor at tracing data flow.

The core idea is to deploy each pure Spore function as a nano-service within the VMN. The network automatically distributes and reorganizes these units based on actual usage, inspired by how mycelium networks adapt in nature. This seeks to replace optimistic, pre-planned service boundaries with dynamic, efficient structures.

Currently, Spore is a basic bytecode interpreter and Mycelium is in the experimental phase. Lamar plans to develop it in his spare time, documenting progress on his blog and GitHub. He's seeking feedback and potential contributions from the developer community.
