CVC DIF Expands Canadian Tower Platform via American Tower Deal

CVC DIF is building out its Canadian wireless tower platform, with portfolio company Aurora Towers agreeing to acquire American Tower's Canadian business of 255 communication sites.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Aurora Towers exists only because of a deal struck less than a year ago. In late 2025, CVC DIF acquired SBA Communications' Canadian tower business for $323m (C$446m), inheriting a portfolio of roughly 400 owned and managed sites and a customer base of Canadian carriers.

Bolting on American Tower's 255 sites now roughly doubles the platform's scale, and because the two portfolios overlap only minimally, the combination extends Aurora's reach across Canada. The transaction underscores CVC DIF's ongoing expansion strategy in the Canadian telecommunications infrastructure market.

Neither CVC DIF nor American Tower provided further comment on the deal at the time of publication.
