Blackstone Divests Interplex ICT Unit to Bizlink for $850 Million

Blackstone is carving out the information and communications technology arm of Interplex, selling the unit to Taiwan-based Bizlink Holding. The deal is valued at roughly $850 million. This move allows the private equity giant to offload a slower-growth segment while maintaining ownership of Interplex's higher-growth electric vehicle and medical device businesses.

Bizlink, a supplier for Nvidia with a market value of $13.3 billion, pursued this acquisition for months. The company has aggressively expanded through both organic growth and acquisitions, resulting in a 42% share price increase this year. Integrating the ICT lines allows Bizlink to strengthen its position in the networking and data-center hardware sectors.

This divestiture reflects a strategic pivot by Blackstone, which acquired Interplex from Baring Private Equity Asia in 2022. By shedding the ICT division, Blackstone retains assets tied to autonomous driving and cloud computing. Bizlink secures critical hardware capabilities that capitalize on the current spending surge driven by artificial intelligence.
