The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) will confront an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) with a vote of no confidence in chair Richard Collier-Keywood, following months of turmoil within Welsh rugby governance. Central Glamorgan Rugby Union successfully gathered the required support from approximately 30 of Wales' near-300 clubs to force the motion, with the EGM likely scheduled for late March or early April after the conclusion of the men's Six Nations tournament.

The EGM will debate three critical motions: a vote of no confidence in both Collier-Keywood and Professional Rugby Board chair Malcolm Wall; elections for four WRU council board positions; and amendments to how district and council members are elected. Central Glamorgan has also proposed additional recommendations including halting professional game restructuring, establishing a national academy, and eliminating paid director positions except for the chief executive and board chairs.

This development comes amid broader instability in Welsh rugby, with the Ospreys franchise under threat amid proposed ownership changes by Y11 Sport and Media. Wales' national team has already lost three consecutive Six Nations matches, adding pressure to the governing body. The WRU confirmed receipt of the requisition and stated it will follow its governance process, though the organization faces significant challenges both on and off the field as it navigates this latest crisis.
