Leigh Wood secured a decisive victory over Josh Warrington in their grudge rematch at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, winning by unanimous decision with scores of 119-109, 119-109, and 117-111. The 37-year-old Wood controlled the tempo throughout 12 rounds, landing nearly double the punches as his frustrated opponent. Warrington struggled to find his rhythm against the southpaw stance.

Both fighters hinted at retirement following the bout, with Warrington suggesting he may hang up his gloves after a fifth loss in 38 professional fights. The 35-year-old former two-time featherweight world champion acknowledged the dangers of continuing when something is missing. Wood, also a former featherweight champion with a record of 29 wins and 4 defeats, questioned whether this might be his final fight given the toll on his family.

The rematch lacked the drama of their first encounter in Sheffield, where Wood stopped Warrington in the seventh round. Despite the charged atmosphere at the 8,000-capacity sell-out venue, the bout drifted in the later rounds with little action. Both men had lost to Anthony Cacace since their first fight, making this feel like a last roll of the dice for two British boxing stalwarts.
