After five years without a title and finishing bottom of both men's and women's standings in 2025, the franchise has embarked on a complete rebuild with Sanjay Govil's £40m investment fueling a spending spree.

Joe Root's £240,000 signing headlines the men's recruitment, alongside Jordan Cox (£300,000) and captain Phil Salt. Root brings Test cricket pedigree as the second-highest run-scorer in history, while Cox arrives as last year's MVP after topping batting charts with 367 runs. The women's team secured Sophie Devine for £210,000, fresh from leading New Zealand to T20 World Cup glory in 2024.
