Wales women's rugby coaching overhaul

Wales women's rugby coach Sean Lynn admits his team needs improvement after being "bullied off the park" during their World Cup opener against Scotland. Lynn has brought in Tyrone Holmes as the new defence coach, who previously worked with Scotland for three years. The South Africa-born former flanker is expected to bring "big improvement" to the defensive unit with his full-time focus.

Lynn has also appointed Brython Thunder coach Ashley Beck to revitalize Wales' struggling attack while Exeter Chiefs head coach Steve Salvin will work with the forwards on an interim basis. The new coaching staff represents "new voices, new faces and big energy" according to Lynn, who emphasized the need for consistency and process across all areas of the game.

The coaching changes come as Wales seeks to rebuild after their disappointing World Cup campaign. Lynn wants his team to become "more hard-working, competitive" and capitalize on "winning moments" when they occur. The focus will be on establishing a solid foundation before targeting those game-changing opportunities that could elevate this team.
