Swansea Council have agreed to sell Swansea.com Stadium to Swansea City, with the Championship club saying it will safeguard their future. The local authority built the £27m venue in 2005, with the Swans taking operational control in 2018.

Council leader Rob Stewart said the sale price exceeds "fair open-market value" and includes contingent fees for promotion plus retained ticket benefits. The club's American owners, whose investors include Luka Modric and Snoop Dogg, want to return to the Premier League and invest in the stadium.

Swansea City chief executive Tom Gorringe called it a "highly significant moment" after two decades at the ground. The Swans have been sole occupants since Ospreys relocated in 2025. Stewart said ownership could give investors more confidence, though opposition leader Chris Holley questioned how the sale benefits the team on the field.
