Smilla Soenderby clinched the inaugural MCB Ladies Classic in Mauritius, finishing one stroke ahead of Kajsa Arwefjall and Casandra Alexander at 14 under par. The 25-year-old Dane carded a closing 67 at Belle Mare Plage, birdieing the risk-reward 18th to secure her second Ladies European Tour victory.

Soenderby began her final round poorly, dropping a shot at the fourth before responding with an eagle at the sixth. She added further birdies at the 10th, 13th and 15th, though gave one back at the 14th before her decisive finish. "Thank you to my mum who has been with me as my caddie this week. It has been so special," she said.

Sweden's Arwefjall posted a flawless 66 to set the clubhouse target at 13 under, which Alexander matched after an eagle on the last. England's Alice Hewson made four back-nine birdies in her final round but finished in a five-way tie for fifth at the LET event.
