Skerries 100 Road Race Cancelled After Fatal Accident

A fatal crash in the Junior Support race forced the Skerries 100 to be abandoned on Sunday, ending the event early. Organisers from the Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club confirmed the loss and are notifying the rider’s next of kin.

The race, held in County Dublin, marks the first return in four years after insurance costs halted road racing. The tragedy echoes the 2018 death of William Dunlop and follows recent fatalities at the Tandragee 100, North West 200, and Isle of Man TT.

With the event cancelled, organisers will reassess safety protocols and the viability of future road racing in Ireland. The Skerries 100 is now officially called off for the season.
