Sir Kevin Sinfield completed his final endurance challenge, running seven ultramarathons in seven days, finishing at Old Trafford ahead of the Super League Grand Final. He raised over £13m for motor neurone disease (MND) causes in memory of his late friend and teammate Rob Burrow, who died in 2024. Sinfield began the challenge in Hull on September 27, visiting all 12 Super League clubs.

Along the route, he was joined by members of the MND community and surprised by royals including The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Princess Royal, and sporting figures such as Sir Gareth Southgate and Josh Warrington. Each day consisted of 7km hourly blocks with an extra mile for MND supporters. Funds will support the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity, My Name5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer Foundation, MND Scotland, and the Irish MND Association.

Sinfield, 45, played his entire career with Leeds Rhinos, where he and Burrow won seven titles together. Burrow’s wife, Lindsey Burrow, said Rob would have been proud of Sinfield’s efforts, calling it a testament to his humility and dedication. Sinfield’s son, Jack, played for Wakefield Trinity in the Grand Final.
