Shane Lowry produced a frontrunning masterclass to clinch a record 11-shot victory at the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, County Clare. The 39-year-old Irishman carded a seven-under 63 in the final round to finish at 23-under-par, setting a tournament record score of 257 (67-62-65-63). US President Donald Trump presented the trophy as Lowry secured his first individual title since September 2022 and his second Irish Open win, 17 years after his first.

Lowry entered the final round with a four-stroke lead over Jacob Skov Olesen and never relinquished control, birdieing four of his first eight holes to reach 20-under. A bogey on the ninth was answered with immediate birdies on the 10th, 14th, and 15th, before a closing 29-foot birdie putt on the 18th sparked emotional celebrations. "This year has been quite difficult on the course for me," said the 2019 Open champion, referencing near-misses in Dubai, Florida, and a final-round 79 at the Masters.

American Patrick Reed and Chile's Joaquin Niemann shared second at 12-under. Denmark's Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen matched Lowry's 63 for fourth, while Tom Mc Kibbin led the Northern Irish contingent in fifth. Rory Mc Ilroy, the 2025 winner, closed with a 67 to finish tied for 41st, 22 shots behind Lowry. Reed's result extends his lead over Mc Ilroy in the Race to Dubai rankings ahead of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
