Scotland's Six Nations 2026 Title Hopes: Tuipulotu's 'Hell' to Contenders

Scotland captain Sione Tuipulotu believes his team's journey through 'hell and back' over the past five years has prepared them for their Six Nations 2026 title challenge. The dark blues arrive in Dublin for their final match against Ireland with both the championship and Triple Crown still within reach, marking their first genuine title contention since 1999.

Tuipulotu credits the team's resilience through devastating losses to Argentina and Italy as the foundation for their current form. Following three consecutive Six Nations victories over England, Wales, and France, Scotland's 'golden generation' appears to have finally clicked. The forward pack's dominant performance against France last weekend surprised many, with Tuipulotu noting how the pack 'outmuscled' their French counterparts.

The challenge awaiting Scotland is formidable. Ireland have won 11 consecutive meetings between the sides, and no Scottish team has ever won at Dublin's Aviva Stadium. Only three players in the matchday 23 have beaten Ireland before. Tuipulotu, who played under Ireland coach Andy Farrell during the Lions tour, says the team has built genuine belief rather than hope, ready to face what he calls 'the toughest challenge' of their campaign.
