Scotland will honor the late Scott Hastings during their final Nations Championship game against Fiji at Murrayfield on Saturday. Hastings, a beloved and decorated center who passed away in May at 61, made 65 Test appearances for his country, a record at the time, often wearing the number 13 jersey.

To commemorate his legacy, Ollie Smith will wear a special edition of the number 13 shirt. The number will be rendered in gold, with the names of the teams Hastings played for and some of his notable achievements incorporated within it. Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend highlighted Hastings' iconic status, particularly his performance in the 1990 Grand Slam-winning game against England.

Hastings, a Watsonians player, also represented the British and Irish Lions and the Barbarians. His career highlight was the 1990 Grand Slam, cemented by a legendary try-saving tackle on Rory Underwood. He was inducted into the Scottish Rugby Hall of Fame last autumn. An estimated 50,000 fans are expected to attend the match, which now carries significant emotional weight as the stadium pays tribute to one of its rugby heroes.
