Super featherweight Ryan Garner has set his sights on the winner of Saturday's world title clash between James Dickens and Anthony Cacace. The Southampton fighter, known as 'The Piranha', will face Mexican Cristian Bielma in an eight-round bout at Dublin's 3 Arena this weekend. This fight serves as a tune-up before Garner's planned headline show at St Mary's Stadium this summer.

Garner, who boasts an undefeated record with 18 wins, was a late addition to the Dublin card in mid-February. The 27-year-old has enjoyed a breakout 2025, capturing European, British and Commonwealth titles across two Bournemouth shows. His impressive run has propelled him up the world rankings, with positions of third in the WBC, ninth in Ring Magazine and 15th with the IBF.

The Southampton boxer was originally scheduled to face Cacace in 2023 but the fight fell through when the Northern Irishman withdrew with a wrist injury. Garner believes he's now ready for such high-level competition, having developed significantly since then. 'I definitely wasn't ready back then,' Garner admitted, reflecting on his previous matchup. 'Now I've done 10 and 12 rounders and I'm coming into my prime.'
