Liverpool's James Dickens defends his WBA super-featherweight title against Belfast's Anthony Cacace at Dublin's 3Arena on Saturday. Both fighters, aged 34 and 37 respectively, are late bloomers who found success in their 30s after years in boxing's shadows. Dickens, a southpaw standing 5ft 5in with a 63-inch reach, makes his first title defense after winning the belt in July 2024.

Cacace, who recently turned 37, stands 5ft 10in with a 71-inch reach, giving him a significant size advantage. The Belfast fighter won the IBF version of the title in May 2024 by defeating Joe Cordina, then vacated it to pursue this unification opportunity. Both men have compelling backstories - Dickens lost previous world title challenges at super-bantamweight and featherweight before finding success at super-featherweight, while Cacace's career was revitalized after a 2017 defeat to Martin J Ward.

The winner could target unification bouts against WBC champion O'Shaquie Foster or unified champion Emanuel Navarrete later this year. The undercard features Dublin's Pierce O'Leary fighting in his hometown for the first time, along with several Irish prospects. BBC Sport will provide live text commentary throughout the evening.
