Rashid Khan took six wickets as Afghanistan beat Ireland by 92 runs in Gary Wilson's first one-day international as head coach. After Wednesday's opener was washed out, a wet outfield at Bready caused a 90-minute delay and reduced the match to 47 overs per side.

Afghanistan posted 299-8, with Ibrahim Zadran's 84 anchoring the innings. Ireland could only muster 207 all out, with Cade Carmichael top-scoring with 62. Rashid's spell of 6-34 from 7.4 overs proved decisive.

Ireland were depleted by injuries, missing Josh Little, Matt Hollard, Craig Young and Barry McCarthy. Debutant Byron McDonough and Jai Moondra struggled, while Mark Adair was the pick with 2-40.

The win extends Afghanistan's streak to seven consecutive ODI victories over Ireland. The third match takes place at Stormont on Monday, with both sides preparing for the 2027 World Cup qualifiers.
