Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 71 helped Afghanistan to victory over Ireland at Stormont, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-game ODI series. After the first match was washed out, Afghanistan powered to victory in the second game and, while Ireland produced a much better performance this time, the visitors extended their ODI winning streak between the nations to eight.

Gavin Hoey took 4-34 for the hosts, whose tally of 206 with the bat was not enough as three wickets apiece from Rashid Khan (3-44) and AM Ghazanfar (3-29) helped set a manageable target. Afghanistan won the toss and put Ireland in, with Rashid once again proving a thorn in Ireland's side, dismissing captain Cade Carmichael, Harry Tector and Mark Adair.

Ghazanfar's three wickets came at just 29 runs, while Fazalhaq Farooqi made the first breakthrough. Ireland's innings saw some resistance from Ben Calitz (20), Hoey (36) and Jai Moondra (31), but they fell before the end. Afghanistan chased down 207 with five wickets and 31 balls to spare, Rashid contributing 37 not out. The sides meet again at Stormont on Wednesday.
