Afghanistan captain Rahmat Shah hit an unbeaten 143* at Stormont to help his side complete a 4-0 ODI series win over Ireland. While the first of the five‑match series was washed out, the visitors swept the remainder to cement their dominance.

Ireland posted 298‑7, with Harry Tector 53 and Curtis Campher 96. Afghanistan chased the target of 299 with six wickets to spare, finishing 302‑4 in 48.5 overs and overcoming a slow start to the chase.

Rahmat shared an Afghanistan record 201 for the third wicket with Sediq Atal, who made 98. The early breakthrough saw Andrew Balbirnie dismissed for 13 and Paul Stirling for 20 as Azmatullah Omarzai took two wickets. Ireland’s Liam Mc Carthy removed Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran early in the powerplay.

Despite a solid effort from the Irish side, there was no answer to Rahmat, who sealed victory with a boundary. Afghanistan’s clean sweep and the Captain’s unbeaten 143* cemented their supremacy in the series.
