Rahm Slams DP World Tour Over LIV Golf Dispute

Jon Rahm has accused the DP World Tour of 'extorting players' after refusing to sign a settlement that would allow him to compete in both LIV Golf and European Tour events. The two-time major champion was among LIV Golf players offered a waiver last month, which required paying fines reportedly worth £2.5m and committing to play six DP World Tour tournaments.

Eight players accepted the deal, gaining releases to participate in LIV Golf events while retaining membership and Ryder Cup eligibility. However, Rahm rejected the conditions, calling them unfair and politically motivated. He suggested a compromise might be possible if the number of required DP World Tour events were reduced to four, matching the minimum requirement stated in the rules.

The Spanish golfer argued the tour was using players to capitalize on their impact while finining them and trying to benefit from both sides. The DP World Tour declined to comment on Rahm's allegations when approached by the BBC.
