British marathon star Calli Hauger-Thackery crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon in 2:43:00 while 22 weeks pregnant. The 33‑year‑old Sheffield Olympian had run the race a year earlier in 2:22:38, finishing sixth. She thanked medical staff and supporters who kept her on pace despite the discomfort, marking her second pregnancy marathon after a Honolulu win discovered post‑race.

Mid‑race she battled a trapped glute nerve at mile five and again at mile eleven, forcing two trips to the medical tent. Frequent bathroom stops added strain before the halfway point. After mile 13, Hauger-Thackery described a smooth second half, saying she felt “a million dollars” as her body settled. She credited her husband Nick, who trains with her, for emotional support throughout the ordeal.

Her pregnancy marathon follows a 2:24:17 win at Houston in January, the first race she entered while eight weeks pregnant, and a Honolulu victory that revealed the pregnancy retroactively. Hauger-Thackery says completing Boston “more meaningful” than Olympic medals, underscoring a shift toward motherhood among runners. She will pause competition to recover, confirming no further races are scheduled.
