Amy Hunt has shocked the track world by winning four gold medals at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, turning her into a household name. She paced her way from a 200 m win on opening night to a mixed 4×100 m relay triumph, sparking headlines with the phrase “Are you not entertained?”

At 17, Hunt broke the under‑18 women’s world record in the 200 m with 22.42 s, beating her idols and setting a British U‑20 record. Vogue later labelled her a face to define the decade, and she has since moved from Newark to Padua to train under Marco Airale.

She has faced major setbacks – a ruptured quadriceps tendon in 2022 required surgery and a year of rehabilitation, during which she completed her Cambridge English‑Literature degree on crutches. Still, she earned an Olympic 4×100 m relay silver in 2024 and a world silver in the 200 m in Tokyo.

Now 24, Hunt is targeting a repeat sweep of sprint golds at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, while battling low‑blood‑pressure episodes in longer races. She is the 14th‑fastest 200 m worldwide and aims to break Asher‑Smith’s British records.
