Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG extended his overall lead in the Tour de France with a dominant victory on mountainous stage 14 from Mulhouse to Le Markstein in the Vosges mountains. The Slovenian crossed the line 38 seconds ahead of team-mate Isaac del Toro, with French teenager Paul Seixas third on the same time.

Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike, Pogacar's main rival for the yellow jersey, finished fourth, 44 seconds down. The Dane now trails Pogacar by 4 minutes 30 seconds overall after the Slovenian's fourth stage win of this Grand Tour. Vingegaard briefly matched Pogacar's pace but could not sustain the high cadence when Pogacar attacked with eight kilometres remaining.

Belgium's Remco Evenepoel remains third in the general classification, five minutes four seconds behind. Mads Pedersen holds the green points jersey, while Pogacar claimed the King of the Mountains jersey. Pogacar, 27, targets a fifth Tour title to join the sport's all-time greats.
