Ospreys have publicly responded to the Welsh Rugby Union's plan to reduce professional men's teams to three, stating that four sustainable clubs remain the stronger foundation for Welsh rugby. A spokesperson said: "Welsh rugby needs reform and change, the Ospreys have never disputed that. What we dispute is the destination." The proposed move would leave west Wales represented by a single side, which Ospreys do not accept as inevitable. They are in direct competition with Scarlets for the west Wales regional licence, and Ospreys' answer is to "invest, build, compete, win."

The club is preparing to play at the revamped St Helen's ground in Swansea, backed by Swansea Council's £5.1m investment and a further £2.5m from owners Y11 Sports & Media. Ospreys director Roger Blyth said there is real momentum and growing confidence. The redevelopment includes a new 3G pitch, South Stand, West Stand, and fan zone. Ospreys also highlight their community foundation, which has become one of the UK's leading rugby foundations. Despite a challenging period, the club says supporter and partner response has been exceptional, establishing stronger foundations for the future.
