Britain's Cameron Norrie produced a superb fightback to beat world number seven Alex de Minaur at the Canadian Open. Norrie trailed 5‑2 and 5‑7 before rallying 7‑6 (7‑5) 6‑1 to ਮਿਲਾਓ.

De Minaur had a match point on his own serve in the second set but double‑faulted, and again at 5‑4 up, sending the set back to level terms. The tie‑break was edged by Norrie, who then ran away with the deciding set in 2 hours 52 minutes.

"It was a great match to win and to test my level," the 30‑year‑old said, noting the high intensity from the start. He will face France's Arthur Fils for a spot in the quarter‑finals.

With de Minaur out, fifth seed Ben Shelton is the only top‑10 men's player remaining. Top seed Jannik Sinner and third‑ranked Novak Djokovic withdrew before the event, while Alexander Zverev lost his opening match.
