Nepal captain Rohit Paudel has urged England and other top cricket nations to tour Kathmandu following his team's impressive T20 World Cup performance. Nepal narrowly lost to England by four runs in a last-ball thriller at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

West Indies are the only Test-playing nation to have faced Nepal outside major tournaments, playing a three-match T20 series last year. Paudel believes tours from Australia or England would demonstrate that Nepal plays "decent cricket" and help globalize the sport. Nepal also came close to beating South Africa at the last T20 World Cup, losing by just one run.

Nepal attempted to organize more fixtures against top sides after the 2024 World Cup but failed to reach agreements. The England and Wales Cricket Board says it would consider playing Nepal, though the packed international calendar presents challenges. Former England internationals like Dawid Malan and Jason Roy participated in Nepal's T20 franchise league last year, which attracts large crowds in Kathmandu.
