Irish driver Josh McErlean finished Friday’s Rally Greece in fourth, his strongest day of the season. He posted a total time of 1:10.15 behind leader Thierry Neuville and ahead of Adrien Fourmaux. McErlean avoided the gravel‑laden stages that felled several rivals, keeping his co‑driver Eoin Treacy intact. His time puts him within striking distance of the podium as the rally heads into its final day.

Hyundai’s Neuville leads by 9.7 seconds over Sebastien Ogier, while Elfyn Evans fell to seventh after opening the road, a spot that hampers pace on the stony surface. Toyota duo Oliver Solberg and Sami Pajari both suffered issues, leaving Evans 35 seconds behind Takamoto Katsuta. The M‑Sport Ford Puma of Jon Armstrong retired on stage six with a turbo failure after briefly taking third.

McErlean’s fourth place marks his best WRC finish, improving on three prior seventh‑places since his debut in 2025. Maintaining the position through ten remaining stages will require the same clean driving that served him today, especially as front‑running crews chase each other on the narrow gravel. McErlean left the service park confident that his road‑position gain positions him for a potential podium.
