Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of Mako Vunipola, Joel Sclavi, Joe Jenkins, and Jack Doorey-Palmer for the upcoming season. The 35-year-old Vunipola, currently with French Pro D2 leaders Vannes, brings extensive international experience with 79 caps for England and three British and Irish Lions tours. The New Zealand-born loose-head prop was part of England's 2019 World Cup final team and won four Premiership titles and three European Champions Cups during his 13-year tenure at Saracens.

Joining Vunipola are Argentina prop Joel Sclavi from La Rochelle, Bristol Bears centre Joe Jenkins, and Harlequins hooker Jack Doorey-Palmer. Sclavi, 31, brings Champions Cup and Top 14 experience to Welford Road, having won both competitions with La Rochelle and earned 33 caps for Argentina. The 22-year-old Doorey-Palmer, a product of Harlequins' academy, has been gaining experience on loan at Cambridge this season. Jenkins, also 22, made history at Bristol when he became their youngest-ever Premiership starter at 18 against Saracens in November 2022.

Tigers boss Geoff Parling expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, particularly highlighting Vunipola's experience and leadership qualities. The club's recruitment strategy focuses on strengthening their set-piece capabilities, with Parling noting Sclavi's size and strength as valuable assets. These signings represent Leicester's ambitions to bolster their squad depth and competitiveness as they prepare for the upcoming Premiership season.
