Ryan Moore secured his sixth Breeders' Cup Turf victory at Keeneland on Saturday, timing his final push perfectly to power home by three-quarters of a length. Riding Benvenuto Cellini, Moore beat compatriot James Doyle on Map Of Stars into second place. The win marked Aidan O'Brien's eighth victory in the race, extending his own record.
Diamond Necklace finished third for the Irish trainer. Moore, appointed MBE for services to racing and British sport in June, is widely regarded as the best jockey of his generation. O'Brien praised his horse as a 3-1 favourite showing great class.
Benvenuto Cellini's dam, Newspaperofrecord, previously won the Breeders' Cup in 2018.
