American Sepp Kuss claimed his first Giro d'Italia stage victory on Saturday, conquering the 151‑km mountain route from Feltre to Alleghe. He surged ahead on the final climb, holding off Canada's Derek Gee‑West, who arrived 13 seconds later, and Italy's Alessandro Ciccone, another 23 seconds back.

Kuss’s win came as teammate Jonas Vingegaard finished fifth, matching the peloton’s time and preserving his four minutes and three seconds lead over Austrian Felix Gall. The Danish rider, a two‑time Tour de France champion and 2025 Vuelta winner, remains on course to join an elite group of riders who have captured all three Grand Tours.

Gall took fourth place, 39 seconds behind Kuss, while Ciccone completed the podium in third. Vingegaard’s margin over Gall shrank to just over four minutes, tightening the battle for the maglia rosa as the race enters its final weekend. The Danish champion’s bid for historic triple‑Grand Tour status now hinges on the remaining stages.

Saturday’s 200‑km mountain stage from Gemona del Friuli to Piancavallo will be the penultimate test, with a flat finale in Rome slated for Sunday. Vingegaard must defend his lead against Gall and other climbers, while Kuss looks to add another win before the race concludes.
