Scotland's Kelsey Macdonald delivered a stunning performance at the Australian WPGA Championship, firing a seven-under 64 to break Sanctuary Cove's course record and seize the lead. The 24-year-old's round featured seven birdies with just one dropped shot, showcasing her exceptional ball-striking and putting prowess on the Bermuda grass course.

Macdonald, who has been competing in Australia since January after earning her WPGA Tour of Australasia card, described her opening hole as challenging but said she had 'nothing to lose' from there. The Scottish golfer has been taking advantage of Australia's warmer climate after leaving Scotland in minus seven-degree weather. Her familiarity with Florida-style conditions, where she's now based, clearly translated well to the Sanctuary Cove layout.

Fellow competitor Heath, a LET Access Series graduate and former Curtis Cup player for Great Britain & Ireland, also carded seven birdies in her round. The Australian course conditions, with their Bermuda grass and grain patterns, seemed to favor players accustomed to Florida's golfing environment. Macdonald's record-breaking round positions her strongly heading into the tournament's final stages.
