British flyweight Lone'er Kavanagh has described his UFC bout against former champion Brandon Moreno in Mexico City as a 'legendary moment' in his career. The 26-year-old stepped in on three weeks' notice after Moreno's original opponent withdrew due to injury. Fighting Moreno in the main event at Arena CDMX presents a significant opportunity for the unranked Kavanagh.

Kavanagh enters the contest on a two-fight winning streak in the UFC, though he suffered a defeat to Charles Johnson in August. Meanwhile, Moreno brings experience as a two-time former champion and current sixth-ranked flyweight, representing one of the toughest challenges in the division. The 32-year-old Mexican has faced recent struggles, losing three of his last five fights, including a stoppage defeat to Tatsuro Taira in December.

Kavanagh, who joined the UFC in 2024 after a successful run on Dana White's Contender Series, expressed no hesitation about taking the fight. 'It brings me one step closer to the title and that's what I want,' he stated. The former Cage Warriors star emphasized his aggressive fighting style, promising to 'do ninja stuff only' while seeking a finish against the experienced Moreno.
